How did you do to help your baby’s nappy rash?

Answers from 4aKid fans:

Caitlin Blignaut Maizena – cornflour. Throw some in an empty baby powder container and use with every nappy change. It absorbs a lot of moisture so baby’s bum heals quicker. And it doesn’t burn or leave a oily residue.

Colette Giquel Rossouw Bepanthem contains something tht helps to regenerate skin faster. Zinc repairs skin too. Although expensive, I changed nappies very often and aired the toosh so tht it cld ‘dry’ before putting on cream. I wld put maizena on after the cream as well. Be careful of using cortisone cream – it thins the skin if u use too much. Nystacid burnt my babies bum so use it sparingly. And don’t forget some pain syrup… If we have pain, we take a headache pill. If they have pain, give them something too….

Belinda Moffitt Ne Robson rooibos really really works, a friend told me about it, and I used it as a last resort, it works brilliantly!!! you make rooibos in a cup (make it strong) wait for it to cool and dab it on babies bum with cotton bud, then pat dry, and put baby powder on! it’s miles better then any expensive cream. (just be carful as it can stain clothes)

Samantha Ann Lennox my daughter was 2 and after a batch of antibiotics with penicillin in, she had a really bad tummy causing blisters as well as a rash. I tried everything and looked on google. ROOIBOS tea took it away. I made tea for her to drink and then put the tea bags in her nappy and also cleaned her rash with Luke warm rooibos. Within 2 days her bum was looking better and she wasnt in any more pain. Rooibos is a natural anti inflammatory.

Beverley Rademeyer Moreland Bath them in rooibos tea. And if it was really bad put the tea bag directly on the skin. Next morning it was gone. Even now if I don’t have Dettol I bath them in rooibos.
